Home Start – Family Programme

Posted on:

Home Start East Sussex works one-to-one and in groups to support, encourage and develop the increased safety, confidence and independence of local families who have experienced adversity.

The Being Family programme is a friendly six-week online group, delivered via Zoom. The being family programme is open to all parents or carers who have a young baby under 12 months of age at the start of the programme.

Our aim is to support parents with changes that happen when becoming a parent, whilst also building up a support network of other parents.

Parents may find this programme particularly beneficial if, for example, they are struggling with adapting to life as a parent, feeling overwhelmed since the arrival of baby or sometimes find they are feeling lonely.

We also offer a 1:1 volunteer (home-visiting, phone support or meeting in public places). This support is optional and only available to families taking up the being family programme.

We are now signing up parents for our next course starting in November –
