We are involved in a scheme in conjunction with the Conquest Hospital to follow-up patients with ischaemic heart disease or strokes.
These patients are invited to attend for a blood test and are then seen by the Practice Nurse and the Doctor in a normal surgery.
In order to be part of the scheme all the doctors and practice nurses attend annual update sessions
We manage most of our diabetics solely at the Practice and review them in dedicated Diabetic Clinics with our Practice Nurses and other professionals as appropriate.
We are part of the Hastings & Rother enhanced service for diabetes care and all the doctors and practice nurses attend regular updates on diabetic management.
Dr James, Dr Albardiaz and Dr Parnell do a 3 weekly Cryotherapy clinic at the surgery to treat a variety of benign and malignant skin lesions by freezing them with liquid nitrogen.
All of the doctors give advice on all forms of contraception.
Dr Parnell fits contraceptive implants at the surgery. At the moment we are not able to fit coils. However if a patient wants to have a coil we can arrange for them to be fitted at either the Westfield practice or at Rye medical centre. Alternatively patients can refer themselves directly to the family planning clinic at Station Plaza in Hastings. The number is 01424 464750.
We are part of the CCGÂ enhanced service for management of COPD.
All patients diagnosed with this condition are offered annual spirometry and assessment by their registered doctor.
Warfarin is a drug that is being increasingly used for a variety of medical conditions, this requires regular monitoring.
In order to avoid our patients having to return to the Anticoagulation Clinic at the Conquest Hospital we monitor the warfarin therapy of our patients here at the surgery.
This service is carried out by the practice nurses and health care assistants.
Our midwife Ilya Panda does antenatal clinics at Ferry Road in Rye
